Sorry that the 6th edition has taken so long to get out, things have been a little hectic here lately.
As some of you may already know, I live with and care fulltime for, both my elderly parents, Dad is 87, and Mum is 88. Mum has dementia and since the 5th edition she has suffered a series of strokes which have left her unable to walk. I have her home now, but she does require more of my time than before. So it has been a bit of a battle trying to get a routine that allows me enough time for the magazine, but fingers crossed I am on track now.
You will notice that the issue numbering system on the front cover has changed. This is what it all means, volume = year/s of publication, issue = number of magazines published in current year of publication and edition = total number of magazines published.
In an effort to ensure a more smooth publication and distribution process for each edition of Ringer, I am implementing a new system that will require advertisers to commit to advertising an edition in advance. i.e. When I am compiling the content of edition 7, I will be seeking commitment and then payment of advertising for edition 8, I believe that this will make a huge difference to the time it takes to get each edition out.
We all know that times are tough right now, and I again want to thank Ringer’s advertisers. Most of you probably don’t realise that I run Ringer entirely on my own, and at this stage in a voluntary manner. Meaning I don’t draw a wage from it. As soon as I get enough advertising to pay printing, distribution and insurance costs we go to print. So without just one of these advertisers there would be no magazine.
